The Very Thought of You 1944 DVD - Dennis Morgan / Eleanor Parker

Army Sergeants Dave (Dennis Morgan) and "Fixit" (Dane Clark), home on a three-day pass after serving their country for a year and a half, head to Pasadena and visit Dave's alma mater, Caltech. There, they meet Cora (Faye Emerson) and Janet (Eleanor Parker), two young women working in a parachute factory. While Fixit is drawn to Cora, Janet reconnects with Dave, whom she remembers from school. Discovering Dave has no family in the area, Janet invites him for Thanksgiving dinner with her own family. Janet's mother disapproves of Dave, worried about a relationship with a military man often away from home. Her concern stems partly from Janet's sister, Molly (Andrea King), who is married to a sailor but is unfaithful, and from Janet's brother, who is rude to Dave. Only Janet's father welcomes him. After a late outing at Mount Wilson, Dave and Janet spend the night at Cora's apartment, returning home at 3 a.m. Janet's mother reacts harshly. Despite this, Dave and Janet marry before Dave returns to duty, sharing a brief honeymoon. Molly intercepts Dave's letters, causing Janet to move out and live with Cora. When news arrives that Dave and Fixit have been wounded, Janet's family finally accepts Dave, and Molly reconciles with her own husband, Fred (William Prince). Months later, Dave returns home, reunited with Janet and meeting their new baby boy.
