Cafe owner Stan Fabian becomes involved with Joanie Daniel and her 'brother' Frank in a scheme to recover a fortune in stolen gold buried by Frank in Germany during World War II. Unbeknownst to Stan, Joanie and Frank are actually undercover agents aiming to obtain a confession from Stan for a murder committed in Germany. Joanie manipulates Stan's affection for her, urging him to join the Army to gain access to the supposed treasure located on a U.S. Army reservation. The plan is ultimately a plot of entrapment.
