After parting ways with his longtime business partner, Hank Whirling prepares to launch his big top circus on tour. Securing a loan and investment funds, he is required to accept Randy Sherman—one of their employees—as a financial overseer. Sherman immediately hires Helen Harrison as a new press agent, despite Hank's objections. A string of suspicious accidents reveals a saboteur within the company. Facing mounting financial pressure, Whirling aims to take the show to New York City ahead of his former partner, Jules Borman, who is also organizing a competing circus. To generate publicity, trapeze and high wire artist Zach Colino agrees to perform a daring walk across Niagara Falls. When the sabotaged circus train crashes—claiming the lives of Zach's wife and others—the troupe races to Niagara Falls for the high wire act, though Zach struggles with personal loss. Meanwhile, Borman’s saboteur lies in wait, plotting further havoc.
