The Adventures of Hajji Baba 1954 DVD - John Derek / Elaine Stewart

Set in Ispahan, Persia, the story follows Hajji Baba (John Derek), a barber who leaves his father's shop in search of fortune. Meanwhile, Princess Fawzia (Elaine Stewart) persuades her father to allow her to marry Nur-El-Din (Paul Picerni), a renowned prince. Her father's plans for a political marriage lead Fawzia to flee the palace disguised as a boy. During her escape, she meets Hajji Baba, who unknowingly becomes her escort after defeating a would-be guardian with his barber's tools. A series of misunderstandings ensue when Hajji mistakes an emerald ring as the treasure to be delivered and later realizes Fawzia herself is the intended prize. He promises to protect her, and together they join the caravan of Osman Aga (Thomas Gomez), where they encounter the enchanting dancer Ayesha (Rosemarie Bowe). Their journey takes a dangerous turn when the Caliph's (Donald Randolph) guards attempt to recapture the princess, only to be defeated by a formidable group of Turcoman women led by Banah (Amanda Blake).
