Tacey and Harry King are a suburban couple with three sons who are desperate for a babysitter. When Tacey places an ad for a live-in babysitter, their world is turned upside down by the arrival of Lynn Belvedere—a man with extraordinary intelligence and a wealth of life experience. Despite his eccentric and forthright nature, Mr. Belvedere quickly works wonders with the children and around the house. However, his mysterious outings while Harry is away on business spark rumors. In the end, Mr. Belvedere's resourcefulness and wit bring resolution to the family’s troubles.
