Socialite Elvira Kent suspects her husband of infidelity. When he claims he cannot accompany her on their planned ocean voyage, Elvira hires nightclub singer Georgia Garrett to impersonate her on the cruise. Meanwhile, Elvira stays at a hotel nearby to keep a covert watch on her husband. Unbeknownst to her, her husband hires private detective Peter Virgil to watch over Elvira (actually Georgia) during the cruise. This setup leads to a series of misunderstandings and comedic situations as Peter is unaware that Georgia is not Elvira.
