When heiress Jean Courtland attempts suicide, her fiancé Elliott Carson begins to investigate her mysterious connection to John Triton. Through a series of flashbacks, it is revealed that Triton, once a popular stage mentalist, began experiencing terrifying flashes of genuine precognition. His insights were exploited by his partner, Whitney Courtland, for profit. Troubled by his inability to prevent the tragedies he foresaw, Triton leaves the act to live as a recluse. Years later, new visions compel Triton to intervene and try to save the Courtland family from impending doom. As skepticism and fate stand in his way, Triton struggles to alter destiny's course.
