Vivian, a B-girl working at "The Grass Skirt," is dismissed by her wealthy, married boyfriend. In a desperate move to confront him, she hijacks a drunken patron, Henry Shanway, and his car, driving from Boston to Cape Cod. There, Vivian abandons Henry—and subsequently disappears without a trace. Months later, a skeleton is discovered on a remote Cape Cod beach, lacking clothing or clues. Lieutenant Pete Morales, with the forensic expertise of Dr. McAdoo from Harvard, must work backwards from the remains to uncover the victim's identity, life, and killer.
