June Evans, a clothing model, and Tommy Bradford, a travel agent, both fantasize about leading lives of wealth. When they meet at the wedding of millionaire J. Westley Piermont's daughter, each mistakenly believes the other to be rich, as both are there merely to run errands. Due to Piermont's notoriously poor memory, he inadvertently aids June and Tommy in sustaining their charade. As romance blossoms between them, the two continuously try to impress one another, despite neither having money.
