Set in Venice in 1900, "Escape Me Never" follows the romantic entanglements of Fenella, who is engaged to composer Caryl Dubrok. Her world is shaken when she hears rumors about Gemma, an unmarried woman with a child, staying with a composer named Dubrok. Confused and heartbroken, Fenella ends her engagement and retreats to the mountains, where she becomes intrigued by the charming Sebastian—unaware that he is, in fact, the composer Gemma is staying with. Once Fenella uncovers Sebastian's identity, Gemma insists that Fenella must make a choice, but Fenella is unable to decide. Ultimately, Gemma and Sebastian leave to be married and relocate to England, where Sebastian works on his ballet. Meanwhile, Fenella and Caryl rekindle their engagement, yet Fenella's heart still longs for the fun-loving Sebastian.
