Double Exposure 1944 DVD - Chester Morris / Nancy Kelly

Pat Marvin (Nancy Kelly), a small-town photographer from Iowa Falls, receives a job offer in New York City for a magazine. Due to a misunderstanding, the magazine's publisher and sports fanatic, James R. Tarlock (Richard Gaines), believes Pat is a man. The magazine's editor, Larry Burke (Chester Morris), is pleased to discover his new colleague is a woman and quickly takes a personal interest in her. Pat's boyfriend, Ben Scribner (Phillip Terry), is upset that she is leaving him for a career in the city and decides to follow her to keep an eye on her fidelity. Pat soon impresses Larry by capturing dramatic photos of Dolores Tucker (Jane Farrar) after a failed suicide attempt. Publishing the photos causes controversy, as Dolores is the estranged wife of millionaire Sonny Tucker (Charles Arnt). To further her career, Pat disguises herself as a chorus girl to gain access to Sonny, successfully gaining more photographs but arousing Dolores’s suspicion. Amidst the growing love triangle between Pat, Larry, and Ben, Pat introduces Ben as her brother to keep her engagement secret from Larry. Confusion and jealousy escalate, leading Larry to send Ben on an assignment to Russia. Meanwhile, Pat is jailed after staging a fake crime for the magazine. When Dolores is found murdered, Pat and Larry investigate and uncover Sonny as the culprit. Through their challenges, Pat and Larry fall in love, and Ben, having married someone else while in Russia, leaves them free to be together.
