Destroyer 1943 DVD - Edward G. Robinson / Glenn Ford

A patriotic World War II drama following the journey of the new American destroyer, the John Paul Jones, from her construction to a harrowing battle at sea. The crew includes Steve Boleslavski, a shipyard welder who reenlists as Chief Boatswain's Mate to serve on the vessel he helped build. After failing her sea trials, the destroyer is relegated to mail run duties, but soon faces a fierce encounter with a Japanese submarine.
