Dagwood accidentally invents a non-flammable paint, only to have it stolen by criminals Dillon and Stack before he can present it to his boss, Radcliffe. Attempting to demonstrate his invention, Dagwood paints Radcliffe's house, but is disgraced when the house burns down. It falls to Blondie to uncover the real culprits and save the day.
