Polly Fulton, the only daughter of wealthy industrialist B.F. Fulton, is preparing to marry her ideal match, attorney Robert Tasmin. However, her life takes an unexpected turn when she meets the intellectual Thomas Brett. Polly and Thomas fall in love and soon marry. Throughout their marriage, Brett remains opposed to the opulent lifestyle of the rich. His resentment grows as he realizes that, through his marriage, he has inadvertently become one of the wealthy, leading to conflict with his wife.
