Carol Delbridge, a young woman with a mysterious past, and her father arrive in the Bahamas to manage the business affairs of an island owned by Adrian Ainsworth, whose family has overseen the island for generations to the satisfaction of its 250 native residents. Adrian is married to a woman who prefers to stay away from the island, feeling lonely there. Neither Adrian nor the newcomers are particularly happy about the arrangement, but amidst the backdrop of stunning sunsets romance is inevitable.
